clean bin movie

1 film festival, 5 high schools, and 4 communities; we just got back from 10 screenings in the Thompson-Nicola Regional District of British Columbia. We got to visit some great small towns that would otherwise likely never see The Clean Bin Project (Clearwater, Chase, Merritt, and Clinton). We even squeezed in a visit to the Cache Creek Landfill (Where much of Vancouver's garbage ends up).

The schools were especially amazing. Lots of great questions, open discussions about reusable feminine hygiene, and even a few personal pledges to give up plastic bags or try homemade toothpaste.

One of the highlights was meeting 4 amazing youth in Kamloops; they started their own zero waste blog the day after seeing the film! Check it out at http://nottrashyreport.blogspot.com/

HUGE thanks to Marcia (that's us with Marcia of Waste Naught BC below) and James for coordinating the tour; Martin and the TNRD for bringing us to so many great communities; and Cheryl, the Yamashitas, and the Clevelands for hosting us.
