excitement!

Lots has happened in the last week!  On Wed night, Grant and I won a MOBI award from the Recycling Council of British Columbia (RCBC) for excellence in journalism and media.  We aren't journalists, or even professional media people, so we were truly honoured to receive it for our blog/film/social media efforts to do with waste reduction and awareness. And it feels pretty darn good to start our tour off with an award under our belt.  Brock Macdonald, the Executive Director of RCBC kept walking around and saying "hey look, an award winning filmmaker" when he saw us. Thanks Brock.

We also garnered another sponsor!  More on that later.

On Thurs we had our first screening of the film, and it went over really well. Sure, you could argue that the people who attend the RCBC conference are already on board with our message, but we were still really happy that it got people excited.  Two people came up afterwards and said they were going to give The Clean Bin Project a try, and I kept getting hugged by strangers.  What more could you ask for?

And tonight is the big Vancouver premiere!  I've been glued to the computer answer questions via twitter and facebook and emailing like crazy.  I feel like practically everyone I know will be in attendance.  (Someone joked that Grant and I should just get married on stage since we've got our entire family in one place) If you live in Vancouver and can't make it, don't worry, we'll be back in the fall.

Thanks to our buddy Keith who managed to get us a mention on CBC radio yesterday! And check us out in the Georgia Straight!
